30 in 30 Day One

I am very excited that yet another 30in30 challenge has just started!

This year I want to create expressive portrait sketches for this challenge. I usually spend long hours concentrating on the finest details when creating portraits, but this time I want to try more fluid approach. Even my husband, Simon, claims that my best pieces are the one that I work on in a quick, expressive manner without overthinking my actions. January is going to be a very exciting month for me as I experiment and try to capture the essence of controlled expression. If you would like to join the challenge yourself, you can visit Leslie Satea's website and sign up here.

Lets start then, here is the first sketch of January challenge. I hope that you like it :)
